Alright folks, The Open is over and it’s time to evaluate what we were able to accomplish and what we left on the table.
Every year The Open presents us with new challenges. Some tend to fall more squarely into our comfort zone and others have us reaching and struggling just to get by. This is valuable information! The things that laid you low in this years Open are EXACTLY the things that need attention and work. So go ahead, get out a pen and paper and make a list of what presented to be your biggest weaknesses in each of the Open workouts this year.
Once you have these written down, create some goals around eliminating these weaknesses. A couple weeks ago I posted about goal setting and putting yourself on a path towards achieving those goals (see Thursdays Thoughts – Goals).
Once you have everything set in place, it comes down to staying accountable and doing the work that needs to be done to remove a weakness and create a strength. It is going to take time and effort, but you will see the results. Come Open Season 2018, hopefully you will find that your fitness has gone up, and your new set of limitations reaches a new height. Then it will be time to start the process all over again.
