Allright boys. Those of us committing to the Paleo Challenge need to get our benchmark WOD's in.
I'm going to knock out Tick Tock Deadlifts on Friday.
Shoot me an email, with your Benchmarks when you get them done, plus any specs you want to keep track of.
Let's stay in touch, pass any info/tips/receipes/questions around.
I've got one:
I need ideas for an early morning pre workout meal. I was knocking back a Zone bar w/ a few Macadamia nuts on my way to the gym in the morning. Ideas to replace the Zone bar?
Speed- Obviously if you are going paleo breakfast will be fresh fruit and hotdogs or bologna.
I prefer a glass of juice and a banana, just some quick energy pre-workout. I save the protein and that for post-workout, my stomach shuts down during the wod anyway.
I just found Coconut Milk (not the canned stuff) but a milk replacement like soy or almond milk that is paleo friendly, and is good for a post-workout shake, with banana, berries, almonds, and a couple eggs. i'm not eating supplements, so that's why I use egg. (don't worry (too much) about getting sick from them, as long as they are grade A and organic, i think you have to eat about 10 million before the stats catch up with you)(though cooked egg might be better because it is more digestible)
Speed, I love the enthusiasm I hear in you in these posts!
I'm personally not in for the challenge but I wanted to let you know I have done strict Paleo for 4-5 weeks. I had trouble getting enough carbs without my regular steel cut oatmeal and got really grumpy, kind of like a smoker without his cigs, haha. So now I stick to paleo + oats and milk. Definitely feel clearer mentally without all the breads or pastas, and this is key for most of my IT work.
Thanks for posting this WOD Carl! Thanks to those who showed up to do it in the AM (and the Paleo guys for cheering us on).
PM crew, hope you guys kick some ass at this! :-D
Speed (and everyone else who is interested)-I make my own paleo kits (usually beef jerky+dried berries+almonds or macadamia nuts), and I'd be willing to leave some samples at the gym for people to try. I find that they are good when you are in a rush and need a quick meal. If people like them enough, I'd be willing to make a bunch up and sell 'em at a friend price (I am a poor law student after all, hahaha). Anyone interested?
