About Our Program

"Excercise is not a thing we do to fix a problem - it is a thing we must do anyway, a thing without which there will always be problems." - Rippetoe

CrossFit CLE.jpgIntroduction
Each day a CrossFit instructor will lead groups through the Workout of the day (WOD), providing guidance on scaling load and intensity appropriate to age, sex, and fitness level. The WOD is difficult and intimidating - and so perhaps you are tempted to think "I have to get in shape" before beginning CrossFit. But CrossFit is a fitness program, and what you are suggesting is that you need to get fit before beginning a fitness program.

Our trainers scale down the WOD to something appropriate for your individual fitness level because we believe the best way to get in shape is by doing CrossFit. If it really is the most effective fitness training method around, why choose a less effective method to prepare oneself? Please don't be ashamed of your current fitness level. Be proud that you are now on a highly effective path to improving your health.

For many people the exercises in CrossFit workouts are completely new. For others they are familiar but were learned incorrectly or without proper instruction. In response to this, we offer "The Nine", a three part fundamentals class to get each new member on the right course so that we don't have to pause a class for basic instruction.

The trainers will always be spending more time with the new participants until they understand the basics and become comfortable with what they are doing. New participants are welcome at every workout!

Hi Heather,
I think you would find a lot of support in our place and will see good results on the program. We scale it down to something that works for you. We recently had a new member join that started 330lb -- two months in and he loves it. We will lead you though the program and give you a simple eating plan. Where there is commitment to regular participation and good eating those pounds will come off guaranteed!

Hello,

I have no problem doing dead hang pull ups and chin ups. But even after watching the instructional kipping videos over and over and attempting kipping pull ups almost daily I can't do a single kipping pull up. Do you have any helpful suggestions or tips that might help me finally get a kipping pull up.
Thanks,
Casey McGinty
